Book Review: An Object of Beauty

An Object of Beauty by Steve Martin was recommended to me by Katya and it did not disappoint.  It’s about a girl right out of college that gets thrown into the art world by getting a job at Sotherby’s.  She eventually ends up working for a gallery and then opens her own (original opening date was Sept 11th).  She goes through many ups and many downs . . . romantic encounters . . .  traveling around the world and personally touches some of the most impressive personally owned paintings there are (that museum curators would absolutely kill to have).  Its fun, teaches you about the art world (something I know NOTHING about) and is set in the greatest city in the world (she lives on the UWS later in life!).

I’m currently reading The Room (wow – what an example of a Mother’s love for her son):

And have these waiting for me to open at home:

But I’m already building my new list starting with these babies:

This is what we had last night (in case you want any recipes)

Stewy Shrimp with Tomatoes and White Beans

Baked Kale Chips

Low-fat Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

 Have a great day!
