More Baby Birds

I have no idea why I’m so fascinated with baby birds this year.  I could probably be philosophical and say its something to do with rebirth (another name for midlife crisis.)  It could also be something as simple as having birds lay eggs in nests that I can see.  This is a picture of the birds that hatched from my last egg pictures:

   

 This is a picture of the babies, right after I QUIETLY took the previous picture:

Their heads POPPED up.  And they wanted to eat NOW!!!!

The nest I’m watching now is a dove nest.  Talk about protection…the nest is in the crook of a cactus.  When this cactus gets too tall, it falls over. There was one egg yesterday, two today. The eggs are small,  the size of a walnut.
