My Dream Job . . .

Don’t get me wrong, I love my current job, but if I were able to (emotionally and financially) just give it all up and follow my dream it would be to open a flower shop.

There would be, of course, SO much to learn (because I know nothing, obviously, about owning a flower shop . . . or my own business for that matter) but I think it would awesome.  Being around flowers all day long.  Seeing people’s faces as they walk in the door and smell the freshly cut blooms and see the vibrant colors.

I would want it to be in Brooklyn . . . on a cute little street that has a big front window.  Maybe something like this . . . so that you’re drawn in.

I would want the classic, clean and industrial feel of Winstons (who I INSISTED we use for our wedding) in Boston.

Combined with the warm, inviting and adorable Sprout in Brooklyn.

It would, ideally, have an outdoor area like this one.

Complete with an amazing greenhouse like this one (I can dream, right? :))

It would be complete with back sunlit room where I would offer classes and where you could have bridal showers or birthday parties.  Doesn’t that sound fun – flower arranging, mimosas, music, girlfriends?!

Working at the shop would be other people passionate about flowers – like this woman who gave up her job in fashion to be a floral designer (and has been designing the floral arrangements, for years, at the Gramercy Tavern in NYC).

We would design flowers for all of the cool new restaurants and hotels in the area . . . and design arrangements for weddings, parties . . . for new babies and new homes and I love yous.

Its nice to dream. 🙂
