Your Amazing Grandmother

Yes, mom-mom recently turned 87, or as she likes to say three years from 90.  She and pop-pop asked me to help select a fabric for this quilt when Chester and I visited two weeks ago.

(Unfortunately the colors did not come out true.)

Most people would be amazed that Mom and Dad cut out the fabric and pieced 45 blocks so quickly.  Not me, I’ve become used to the M&D sewing factory producing quilt tops quickly.   Mom wanted to send me  pictures to ask which of several options I liked for the border of the quilt.  She has never taken pictures on her iPad, but wanted to know how to do that.  So, she pulled out her beloved iPad, talked ( yes, talked) to Google to find out how to take a picture . . . took four pictures and e-mailed them to me.  She then called me on her cell phone to ask me to look at the pictures before I went out that evening  (because she knows I quilt Monday night.)  We then discussed the pictures on Skype.  Remember, Mom is not a teenage boy. . . the only other human that would be able to make a computer do what you want it to do.

By the way, she also is trying to finish one of  four books she is reading on her iPad.  That is in addition to watching some of the TV shows she missed when they were originally aired.

In case you are wondering, this is the photo of the border I selected. (Apple really should work on the color of pictures taken and e-mailed from an iPad. The gray appearing fabric is actually a very pretty green.)

Thanks again to Mike for setting up the iPad, maybe Mike and Mom should make an Ad for Apple!

PS. It cracks me up that you are becoming such a chef.  Kitty couldn’t believe how much food was in your fridge when she was there.
