It’s that time of year again . . . November, when I’ll be spending the month highlighting some of the things I’m most thankful for.
For my first entry . . . it’s a no-brainer. I’m SO thankful that I (and everyone I know and love) is okay after Sandy.
I’m so thankful that our new home was completely untouched.
I’m so thankful that we had enough space and heat, light, hot water, internet, cable . . . so that Katya, Unity, Katie, Doug, Hudson and Liliana had place to go and be safe, warm and connected.
I’m so thankful that Mike was able to make it home last night . . . being without him for almost 10 days, during such a stressful time, is almost unbearable.
I’m so thankful that ICR makes it easy to work from home . . . this week of non-stop quarterly earnings madness went extremely smoothly for me and my clients (huge sigh of relief followed by a gulp of red wine :)).
I’m so thankful that our car is working and full of gas so I could shuttle over items (to the Brooklyn Kitchen) our building collected to donate to the Rockaways.
I’m so thankful for everyone in our life that reached out to make sure we were okay. You never realize how many people care about you until something like this happens.
I’m thankful that I had this little guy with me this week to make me smile and keep me company at bedtime.
I’m thankful that I live in a city that is strong, beautiful . . . and one that has overcome so much worse . . . making it easier to join together . . . recover and rebuild.
