I’m Still Stitching F. Jane

First, I looked at your pictures of Katya and Unity’s wedding . . . it put a big smile on my face.  Beautiful bride, beautiful scenery, great people, fun activities and what sounds like a romantic, love-filled ceremony.

My Dear Jane blocks are coming along.

One of the sayings that is repeated frequently by people who work on the Dear Jane quilt is “finished is better than perfect.” However, this block has too many issues.

Not enough contrast in the two fabrics in the block, and I have NO idea how I the block ended up too small, but it is. (Despite not looking too bad in this picture.)

I’m still auditioning fabric for the sashing that will surround the blocks, I don’t have enough of this fabric, but I like this idea.  (Thanks for the suggestion Kathy!)

I am excited to report that I am on row 12 of 13 in the quilt.  I was thrilled to work on the first block on the row.  When I started on the second block, I realized that I had still had 11 more blocks to go on the row.  Yes, the quilt is teaching me about perseverance.

Here’s my progress:

I’m quilting a Jane, it’s fun to “rediscover”some of the blocks I forgot making.
