Yankee Swap Goodies
We are heading to Jamestown this weekend for the Annual Barron Christmas Party and Yankee Swap. Last year we brought silly gifts, which no one wanted, so this year I am determined to do the opposite and bring awesome gifts that everyone will want. I walked around Grand Central’s Holiday Market the other day to get inspired and came upon a Made in Brooklyn store where I picked up some Mike’s Hot Honey (Of course I have to go to Manhattan to find Mike’s Hot Honey! This will NOT be given away. I’m obsessed and bet that the bottle won’t make it to 2013.) and a Holiday Sweet Box from the Good Batch.
Inside that yummy box of goodness are Oat Chocolate Chunk Cookies (oat cookies with milk and Belgian chocolate chunks topped with sea salt), Brown Butter Salty cookies ( brown butter and raw sugar shortbread cookies), King Ginger cookies (chewy molasses and fresh ginger cookie), Mint Chocolate Magic (mint chocolate cookie with mini chocolate chips), Spicy Sweet Nuts (highly addictive blend of salty and spicy roasted nuts rolled in crunchy sugar) and Peppered Peanut Brittle.
The other little white cloth bag you see there came from another stand at the market called Apotheke, which is a Brooklyn company that makes organic soaps and soy candles. You can purchase their stuff on etsy. The candle I ended up choosing was “Woods”. The only word I can use to describe the scent is coziness. It smells like you’re drinking hot apple cider, next to a freshly cut Christmas tree, in front of a roaring fireplace.
Maybe I should just stick to silly gifts and leave these two at home?
