Being Kind (Label), Com”paw”ssionate and Random (Acts of Kindness)

I definitely want to work on being more conscience and helpful to people in my life in 2013.  Being a New Yorker makes you pretty tough, and selfish and somewhat oblivious to what is going on around you.  I really want to work on that . . . because you never know if someone is having a really bad day and that one simple gesture would make it much better.

As an example, one of my other clients Red Robin, has been in the news lately because of this article.  It’s about a manager that comped an expecting mother’s meal and put “MOM 2 BEE GOOD LUC” on the receipt as the reason for the comp. If you didn’t know already, that is part of Red Robin’s culture.  They actually start every meeting they have (including a lot of investor presentations) with an Unbridled Act . . . so there are dozens and dozens of more stories where that came from.   The are four locations in the Tampa area . . . check one out and get inspired!

Unrelated . . . but somewhat related . . . but kind of not . . . I recently heard about this book called “Compawssion“.  Its a book of photos of rescue pups.  It freakin kills me to see these beautiful animals . . . and think that they were once abandoned.  I think I might get the calendar for my office.

This is for you Mom and Cait.

And I cannot talk about rescue pups without mentioning Kind Label, which is Stacey’s company.  Each article of clothing is tied to a charity . . . some of the proceeds from the sale of these tees goes to The Humane Society.

I bought this tee last year and LIVE in it every weekend.  Part of the proceeds from the sale of this tee to go supporting prostate cancer education and support, which is a cause that is near and dear to Stace.

ANYWAY . . . yeah . . . I’m going to work on increasing my awareness and random acts of kindness (like you the other day, Mom :)) . . . sprinkled in with compassion for people and animals . . . oh . . . and I’m going to buy more of Stacey’s shirts . . . because they’re pretty, and fit well, and comfy and benefit a great friend as well as great causes.  2013 hasn’t been the best year so far, but it will get better . . . especially if I focus on those things.
