Keep Calm and Quilt On

Please tell me what started the keep calm expression.  More quilting pictures.  When I finish quilting the available space , I advance the quilt.  I am fortunate to have a motor that helps me accomplish that.  I am using 2 battings on this quilt.

The bottom layer of batting is cotton, to provide stability.  The top layer is wool to provide fluff.  This is the first time I have used 2 layers of batting. It is actually easier than I thought it would be.   After advancing the quilt, I adjust the batting.  I attach the clamps on the side that keep the backing spread out and prevent wrinkles.

I check the quilt to make sure it is straight.  I am using a tape measure to make sure the block is 12 inches long.  The blue tape on one of the “leaders” helps accuracy by making sure the blocks are at the correct width.(I use the tape to mark the block width after the quilt is attached to my machine.)

I think I will finish Gone Girl tonight. (It does take place near St. Louis, that is where the lawyer is staying.) I hope you are stocked with milk, eggs and bread…it looks like you will be enjoying some snow.  Almost 600 blog entries….
