In The Year 2029 . . .
the end of our street will look like this.
The new plans were just introduced for the Domino Sugar Refinery. The space will include 2,284 residential units, almost 80,000 square feet of ground floor retail space, and over 630,000 square feet of office space. They expect to break ground next year and be completed in 10-15 years.
The massive refinery, built in 1884, was once the largest in the world, producing at its peak 3 million pounds of sugar a day and employing some 5,000 workers. Two Trees Management is the developer. They largely transformed the DUMBO area in Brooklyn back in the 80s and 90s (now one of the most sought after sections of Brooklyn). The architects involved designed the new Barclays Center (where Jay Z’s Nets play) and the East River Esplanade. Exciting stuff.
Speaking of exciting stuff . . . last night we spent our first night on our new KING SIZE BED (I feel like such a grown up) and love it. It was torture getting out of it this morning. torture.
