Presidents Weekend In Brooklyn

leave a comment »

Mike and I used to live for fun trips on long weekends . . . always trying to squeeze every single second out of them to go to a new island . . . or go skiing . . . or site seeing . . . or visiting friends.  We were supposed to go to Loon skiing this weekend with the Conn’s but with all the travel issues I had last week, the distance we would have had to drive with a four-month old (7 HOURS!) . . . and the fact that the temperature was supposed to be below zero the entire weekend kept us home.

I did A LOT of this (snuggling with my little guy) . . .

We had some first this weekend . . . first swim lesson at Aqua Beba.

Listen to this kid.

I knew he was going to like it because he loves bath time! (if you watch this turn your volume off – my voice is annoying!)

He also sat up on his own for the first time (for only a few seconds, but still!)

He went to Queens for the first time to see the Socrates Sculpture Park.

and he actually drove for the first time! (I know, very advanced)

We went on a bunch of walks . . .

And watched Captain Phillips (VERY good – I don’t get out much these days though so I may not be the best judge) . . . and gave Chetter a bath . . . and went to the gym every day . . . and made nice healthy meals and watched the Olympics.

So yeah . . . wasn’t a fun filled travel adventure . . . as our President’s Day weekends usually were . . . but it was one of the best long weekends I’ve had in a while.  Hope you had a good one!
