Spring is coming
The first flowers of spring, so bright and colorful are blooming in Florida. The first is a spectacular tree, my favorite color. What surprises me is that the flower appears before a single leaf. If a tree blooming in my favorite color is wonderful, picture a pink tree doing the almost the same thing. (Leaves are actually starting to sprout on this.) In full disclosure, none of these pictures are from my garden. In fact, I don’t know what they are, and I forgot to ask my native friends the names of the above trees.
And…on my way to Judy’s to sew today, I HAD to stop to take a picture of this Angel Trumpet. I’ve successfully grown yellow Angels, but not pink. While taking the picture, Rusty, the owner of the house waved me over. He introduced himself, and asked if I would like a piece of the plant. Aren’t gardeners special? Rusty had the first Amaryllis I’ve seen blooming this year.
There is hope for the frozen North.
PS I’m glad The Voice looks (sounds) to be good this season. Neil and I accidentally saw part of American Idol and were not impressed.
