Across The Street . . .

Weylin Seymour’s is an old bank converted into an events space and happens to be right across the street from me in Brooklyn.  We have a pretty perfect view of the entrance to the building so we always get a front row seat to the step and repeat (where the photographer’s take pictures of the guests for an event for those who do not know), or see the bride and groom arrive to their wedding reception.  Its a pretty incredible building and the site fee is $50,000 so the events are usually top notch and really fun to watch come together.  I was in awe of one event that happened a few weeks ago . . . there was a sea of votives on the floor when you opened the door to the building.  I thought, “wow, that’s a pretty pricey wedding!” . . . but found out a few days later that it wasn’t a wedding . . . it was an ENGAGEMENT PARTY!  Chloe Malle’s engagement party to be exact.  She’s the social editor for Vogue and the daughter of Candice Bergen.  The entire article about the event can be found here and below are a few of my favorite pictures.

Michael C Fina’s daughter got married in the space last Saturday. A HUGE tent was set up in the parking lot next to the bank last Tuesday and there were nonstop deliveries of flowers, food, decor from Wednesday until Saturday morning.  At one point on Friday morning there were eight trucks delivering flowers.  Hopefully I’ll be able to track down a recap of that wedding some day soon!  Here is a picture of the bride and groom on the front steps.
