Where to start…

So much has happened in the past three years. We can't go back, but how to go forward. I miss documentation of our lives. Most important is the growth of my precious daughter's family: I love my Dara,Mike,Julian and Sloane❤️

How sweet is this in several ways

When my sewing friends learned that Mom mom was making scrap quilts, they gave her enough scraps to keep her sewing for many years. The fabric from this baby quilt was one of the donations she received. It was one of the first things I quilted when I became a computer quilter. img_1733

I sewed the binding(edge) on at Judy’s today. Perfect for a little girl!

Thinking of Vicki

Serendipity. It warms my heart to think about your fortune to have made and kept friendship with some very dear people.

Vicki has been on my mind, first because you had dinner with her last week.

Second, Morgan wore this sweater Friday:img_1728

She wanted to know if Vicki’s llamas ever spit at me. Did they ever spit at you?

Third, one of the ladies that Mom mom and I knit with made these slippers. Do you remember(how could you forget) Vicki wearing the knitted slippers that my Grandmother made???? I think, in another color, I would wear these on the days that the temperature drops below 70 degrees. img_1724

Your son was absolutely a riot tonight. I love seeing you laugh so hard!

Judy’s sewing group

Cindy B. Is a prolific quilter. She likes small pieces, scrap quilts, and reproduction fabric. Once she starts, she keeps going on a project until finished. I love how she used dark blocks around the edge to create a “border”.img_1711

Judy inspires us to do our part to make the Piecemakers Quilt Guild the  special group it is.  The Christmas party of the guild is a dinner, organized by Judy, with a little bit of help from the rest of the Tuesday sewers. In this picture, the sewing elves have finished making stockings to keep the silverware, and dress up the table for the party. img_1715

We also made the most adorable shades for wine glasses.  Votive candles go inside the glasses. I forgot to take a picture of them. They are really cute!

Did you know that Josh makes FABULOUS chocolate chip cookies?

In preparation for our Christmas celebration, I stocked up on Bev Friendly Chocolate chips. img_1716 Josh’s cookies are the perfect size(big), and he NEVER burns them.  I don’t know what recipe he uses to create his delicious cookies, but Ida Mae makes wonderful SOFT cookies using the following recipe. img_1717 I’m excited that so many family members will be here for Christmas. Yes, in addition to Chocolate chip cookies there will be HOMEMADE cheesecake!

A few finishes

Our dining room table was set with my grandmother’s China, Neil’s mother’s silver and we enjoyed a delicious Turkey dinner on Thanksgiving.

Today, I ripped off the tablecloth, and replaced it with a cutting mat. Yes, Mom and I are back to sewing.

First we added the borders to a quilt we are making for Joel. Kitty and Joel selected the fabric.  It is very manly. Mom and I think it needs a pop of color, however, we stuck with the fabrics we were given.img_1700

At the last meeting of the Brandon Quilt Guild Mom won 12 Christmas quilt squares. She decided to make them into table runners. We followed the 15 minute table runner pattern. Of course the title is a lie!  But we finished THREE table runners. (Bogie likes them.)img_1702 The weather was beautiful today. Hope it is nice for you!
